Pastor Joe Kitchens
Our pastor’s journey in ministry has not been unlike many other pastors: he became a Christian as a young teenager, started preaching when he was 15, attended college and seminary, got married (Jeanne), had children (Nathan, Rachel, Hannah, Rebekah), and began pastoring his first church at age 25. However a big turn in his life’s path was taken in the summer of 2011. After spending 47 years in Kentucky he and his family moved to Alabama where he began pastoring North Highlands.
He and his family have made a wonderful transition to our state. While he is still much more likely to be heard saying, “Go Big Blue” than either “War Eagle” or “Roll Tide”, he has often shared his love for his new home and especially for those at North Highlands. He has said many times how blessed, honored and privileged he feels to have been led by God to our church.
